Quite an interesting article here from a San Francisco newspaper. It highlights the difficulty and cost of finding and reviewing the information required by the NTSB as mentioned in my previous post.
The preliminary estimate is that over 700 km of urban pipelines may have inadequate records and would have to be hydrostatically tested to re-prove the MAOP. That would cost many tens of millions of dollars and also seriously disrupt supply to customers.
Makes proper record keeping look very cheap.
